The Infrastructure Academy is a regulated utility and critical infrastructure industry focused workforce recruiting, vetting, onboarding, and training initiative of the Energy Innovation Center Institute, Inc.
The objectives of the Infrastructure Academy are three fold,
Leverage the exceptional results of the EICI to diversify the high-road jobs of the utility and critical infrastructure industries in the Appalachian region
Expand innovative and dedicated training space to prepare a qualified, well-trained, regional workforce to be Day-1 Apprentice Ready to address the looming worker gap of 600,000
Upskill incumbent workers in the new skills, safety and cybersecurity demands of the clean energy transition.
Having already recruited, vetted and trained over 170 candidates for full-time employment through its innovative hub and spoke facility design through its Equitrans and UGI training hubs, the innovative Clean Energy Regional Training (C.E.R.T.) facility is expected to train that 6,000 people annually.
The Infrastructure Academy aligns with Governor Shapiro's Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy as well as the SmartMoves, goals of Sustainable and Resilient Communities and Globally Competitive Economy of the Appalachian Regional Commission.
